A cup - a human being. ​

The painting series shows the interaction of two people: they hold, flow, break, begin, all symbolized by two cups. These cups return to the earth of which they are made and find themselves between flowers, stones, bricks, branches or grass. 

The paintings come with objects - based on real cups combined with paper-machée or knit. They ironically point out the high pressure society imposes on the individual, condensed in commands like: You can have it all! Be yourself! Never hide! Get your shit together! Don’t crack under pressure! 

What do the cups tell? We can’t and shouldn’t be perfect self-optimized individuals on our own. We are necessarily part of a community and of nature. Embrace it and fill your cup!
